Tour de Dayton Thanks You!!!

Hey 4th Annual Tour de Dayton Participants!


Tour de Dayton wants to thank you for coming out and enjoying the ride on such a beautiful day full of exciting cycling adventures through or Northeast & Southeast neighborhood streets and trails, taking time along the way to visit some of the great hidden gems our city has to offer, indulge in some free healthy snacks, learn, see and experience some history, receive some great giveaways and meet great fellow cyclist and our volunteers.

We hope to see you again at next years event as we paddle our way through another part of the Gem City with a new route, exploring new neighborhoods, and new points of interest along the way!

We also want to  thank (Shout out) to all supporters, sponsors, donors, vendors, City of Dayton Fire, Police, Parks, Street Maintenance, Water, Planning, Five Rivers Metro Parks, our local business points of interest for this year, our volunteers and others for supporting this community cycling event we could not do it each year without you!!!

Free massages

Want to ride in the Tour but worried about being sore afterwards?  Dr. Ebert and his Licensed Massage Therapist from East Side Chiropractic will be on site at Washington Park to give free three-minute massages to all our participants!  

Make sure you come back to Washington Park after the tour to get your FREE massage!  Also, take our survey to win some great prizes.

Cool giveaways this year

Tour de Dayton is made possible by the support of local organizations who value community and improving the quality of life in Dayton, Ohio.  

This year, we will giveaway the following items on a first come, first serve basis: Tour de Dayton water bottles, courtesy of the Dayton Cycling Club; reflective bike straps, courtesy of the RTA; and reflective stickers for your bike, courtesy of Five Rivers Metroparks.  We will also have a healthy snack for participants consisting of bananas and cereal bars, thanks to Trader Joe’s.

Need a helmet?  Dayton Children’s will be on site to supply helmets and offer cycling safety information.  Need caffeine to get yourself going on a Saturday morning?  Boston Stoker will be providing coffee.  

We value your feedback!  Come back to Washington Park after the Tour and complete our survey for a chance to win some great raffle prizes!  We will be raffling off a NEOLUX electroluminescent jacket, Boston Stoker t-shirts and coffee, and 5 Five Rivers Metroparks swag bags.  Complete our survey, then find out if you’re an instant winner!

Want to ride in Tour de Dayton but don’t have a bike?

This year, we will have 3 adult bikes and 1 kid bike (ages 9-10) available for individuals who want to ride Tour de Dayton but don’t own a bike, thanks to Bicycles for All!

Oh, and we are giving the bikes away too.  Which means – you may get to take it home with you.

The bikes will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  Registration opens at 9am, so get there early!

2014 Tour de Dayton Update

Hey Tour de Dayton fans followers and participants.

Just posting a quick update letting you know we will be posting our route map for this years Tour de Dayton within the next week so stay tuned and go ahead and register online!!!

Here are a few fun details for this years cycling tour:

Starting & ending at Washington Park, this year we will be riding through Northeast and part of Southeast Dayton neighborhoods of (Wright View, McCook Field, Old North Dayton & Springfield).

The tour includes a stop at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force for their monthly Family Day events with a special parking area for cyclists.  In addition, the tour will includea  chance to ride through the scenic Eastwood Park Mad River bike trail on the way using the new WPAFB trail tunnel connector and bike traffic path, which passes the museum.  Click here to find out more about the events at the museum for family day.

A few other points of interest this year will be a visit to DATV where you can see how tv programs are made, MVCDC (Located in Ahiska Turkish owned community center), City of Dayton Fire Training Center, an Old Firehouse where the current EC Doren Library has set up shop (while their building is being renovated), the Life Enrichment Center (safety Village & community outreach Bike repair & safety training), the Riverscape Bike Hub for free tours and two of the best kept secrets in North Dayton a cool historic neighborhood deli (Charlies Deli) & SWORD- Southwest Ohio Recreation & Defense where you can take classes for belly dancing, archery, fencing, martial arts, yoga and other exercises all in one place!!!  The ride will also include a scenic ride past many of the Old North Dayton historic architectural churches of (Polish, Hungarian, German, Lithuania, Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostals & church of God origins and ownership), a section of the old canal bed (Rita street), The Kossuth Colony Historic District (Notre Dame, & Baltimore streets).

As usual we will have volunteers along the route at the points of interest to assist bike parking etc, Water refill stops, restrooms stops, as well as giving away a variety of bike related items, free healthy snack stop break while supplies last for participants and its all free… let me say that again … its all free!!!!

Tour De Dayton 2014!

Hello all you bike fans, followers, past participants and community members!

We just want to let you know the 4th annual Tour de Dayton is in the planning stages and we will be posting updates on our site here as we go.

The date for this years event will be Saturday August 16th 9am-3pm so mark your calendars. We look forward to seeing you again this year as we explorer a new part of our wonderful city with a new route as we do each year and visit new great points of interest along the way discovering why Dayton Loves Cycling!
